What's the Message

“I had just had a baby and was returning to work from maternity leave.  My son Christian was starting kindergarten.  As you can imagine I was a bit frazzled and was having trouble finding after-school day care for Christian. One day at his soccer practice I was talking with another mom about being exhausted and not liking where Christian was going after school. She told me about The Lion and Lamb School at Grace Church and that her son had just started kindergarten there.  The next day I stopped by Grace to check out this school. The building still had that "new church" smell and I was a bit leery of sending Christian to an unknown church.  I spoke with Debi and there was one space open for kindergarten, however there was a waiting list. She told me that everyone on the list had been called and no one wanted to move their child in since school had started the week before. Talk about God at work. I filled out the necessary paperwork and Christian started the next day.  He was a little scared, as was I, but after that first day he couldn't say enough about how much he loved Miss Terri and Miss Katy!

After a couple months of dropping him off and picking him up everyday it occured to me that maybe I better check out this church further and see what kind of message they were delivering.  That was almost 11 years ago and Grace has been home to our family ever since.

I was saved at Grace; my children were dedicated to God; Christian was baptized last summer and is planning a mission trip this year. His sister Devyn is planning on a baptism this summer.  I believe that God has worked many wonders in our life and I would not have been able to accept those gifts from Him if I had not found Him through Grace.  Every week I look forward to worshiping God through the wonderful music during the worship service, and I find myself replaying or retelling one of Dan's stories.  Sometimes people look at me a little funny when I try to explain what that story has to do with church. I just tell them to come one Sunday; it will change their lives.  I know it has mine.”
